Who We Are

At University Research and Innovation, our primary mission is to provide various support mechanisms, including funding and training, to faculty and students for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors. In addition, we promote a campus-wide culture of research, scholarship, and creative endeavor that complements and enhances the traditions and practices of the colleges, schools, and departments across Purdue Fort Wayne while supporting the retention and recruitment of both faculty and students. Further, we promote this work across campus and to the community.

Our Vision

Here is what we strive to do:

• Create an environment where faculty and student research is enhanced and recognized both on and off campus.
• Ensure that faculty and students are, and feel, supported in their research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
• Increase the broader impacts of research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors across campus and in the community.
• Facilitate the acquisition of external support for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
• Increase community engagement involving research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Our Goals

All our work is in pursuit of the following goals:

• Nurture a campus-wide culture of research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
• Broaden and encourage faculty and student engagement in research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
• Enhance collaboration among faculty engaged in research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors with various units on campus in the support of the broader campus goals and mission.
• Expand community understanding and appreciation, on and off campus, of faculty and student research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
• Ensure that faculty and students receive adequate support and recognition for research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors.
