121 Group Health Coaching Classes
Employee health coach Lindsay Bloom leads three group health coaching classes throughout the year which focus on physical fitness. These educational and active classes give you the tools to create an individualized training program that is realistic, manageable, and contributes to your overall health and fitness classes.
Whether you are brand new to fitness, a seasoned exerciser, or anywhere in between, these virtual classes are designed to:
- Establish an initial baseline fitness level and discuss your health and fitness goals
- Teach exercises to increase strength, flexibility, and aerobic endurance
- Create a plan to incorporate the exercises into your schedule
- Assess goal progress and next steps on your fitness journey
Classes meet once a week for four weeks and are open to all faculty and staff. Keeping your camera on is optional. ZOOM meeting link will be sent prior to the event.

121 Fit
This class explores three types of exercise—aerobic, resistance training, and flexibility.
121 Strong
Join this class to learn about the fundamentals of resistance training as well as health benefits achieved by adding strength training to your fitness routine.
121 Stretch
This class teaches the fundamentals of flexibility. Flexibility can increase your strength and mobility, ease lower back pain, and more.

Fitness Center and Workout Facilities
We have plenty of facilities for you to stay (or get) fit. A 200-meter track. Three basketball/volleyball courts. A one-ninth-mile indoor track with a rubber surface. Two racquetball/handball courts. A cardiovascular-conditioning area. A newly renovated weight room. Outdoor trails, tennis courts, and more. There's something for everyone to stay active.
Fitness Center, Facilities, and Memberships
All Purdue University and Indiana University Fort Wayne students have a FREE Fitness Center membership. Memberships are available for employees/spouses, retirees/spouses, alumni, student spouses, and community members. All Fitness Center members and all currently enrolled students on campus are eligible for one free consultation with our personal trainer per year.

- Purchase a membership online or at the Athletics Center first floor customer service desk.
- Sign up a payroll deduct membership through Human Resources or call 481-6840. (Purdue University Fort Wayne benefits-eligible faculty and staff only)
- Visit the Fitness Center web site for hours of operation, news and alerts, personal training details and costs, policies regarding guest membership passes, locker rooms, proper attire, and more.

Group Exercise Classes for Members
Employees who have a membership at the Fitness Center can join group exercise classes for free. All classes are first come, first served, with limited capacity based on activity and space. Classes are on-site unless noted otherwise. Classes include:
- Cardio workouts including CrossFit
- Strength training
- Stretching
- Total body conditioning
- Aqua class (offered at Turnstone, 3320 N. Clinton)
