I received my B.S. from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where I majored in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience. My experience as a research assistant in the labs of Drs. Claflin and Hennessy at Wright State University drove me to pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology at University of South Carolina. My graduate mentor was Dr. Sandra Kelly and my research focused on how developmental alcohol exposure affected the brain. My postdoctoral training occurred at Binghamton University under Dr. Terrence Deak. My postdoctoral research focused on the aging brain and how neuroinflammation influenced age-related declines in social behavior. After teaching at University of Illinois for 1 year, I moved to Purdue Fort Wayne as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. At PFW, I regularly teach Introduction to Learning, Psychobiology, and Advanced Psychobiology.
