Dr. Hosier completed his Ph.D. work at Western Michigan University. He started in the Sociology department in August 2011 as a Continuing Lecturer and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2019. He has held two administrative positions at the university-Director of the Adult Initiative and as Director of The Tutoring Center. His academic interests are three-fold: examining inequalities in health status based on race, class, and gender; affordable access to healthcare; and the distribution of crime by race, class, and gender. Personally, his life focus is his wife of 40 years, two sons and daughter-in-laws, and six grandchildren.
