Damian Fleming is an Associate Professor of English and Linguistics and Coordinator of the Minor in Medieval Studies (MARS) in the College of Liberal Arts. In addition to teaching ancient and medieval literature and History of the English Language, Fleming created and teaches a two-year language program in Latin. Fleming has been interested in interdisciplinary approaches to the Middle Ages since he majored in Medieval Studies as an undergraduate at Fordham University in New York. His M.A. and Ph.D. are from the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto. He is currently working on a book which explores knowledge of the Hebrew language and alphabet among Christians in early medieval England. He is a Senior Fellow and Past President of the Andrew Mellon Society of Fellows in Critical Bibliography at Rare Book School.
