Dr. Daniel Patten is an assistant professor of criminal justice at Purdue University Fort Wayne. He previously taught at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. His most recent publications can be found in Social Justice, Critical Criminology, Crime, Law and Social Change, Political and Military Sociology, Humanity & Society, and the International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice.
Dr. Patten is a critical criminologist whose research has a macro focus on social forces leading to catastrophic forms of crime with an emphasis on individuals and organizations with the most substantial social, economic, and political power. His research often explores the larger structure of society as criminogenic. Much of his recent work has been developing and applying the concept of criminogenic policy.
