Jeffrey A. Nowak, Ph.D. is a Professor of STEAM Education in the College of Professional Studies at Purdue University Fort Wayne. His primary teaching responsibilities include courses that examine pedagogies of STEAM and Science Education. Inquiry-based instructional strategies and the use of "best practice" technologies in the PreK-12 classroom comprise his writing and research foci. Dr. Nowak serves on several campus committees and as Executive Director of the Northeast Indiana Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education Resource Center.
Dr. Nowak serves as an International STEAM Expert for the United States Agency for International Development. His many years of work in Macedonia have modernized their approach to STEAM education. Among other work in the Balkans, he also designed the science laboratories and modular project-based learning spaces in the Green School Pristina. The Green School in Kosovo is a pilot project using green technologies including high-quality energy-saving materials and is the largest project implemented under the USAID education infrastructure programs.
