Richard Weiner earned his BA in History from the University of Massachusetts and his MA and PhD in History from the University of California Irvine. He is Professor and Chair of History at PFW. His research and teaching examine Mexican and Latin American cultural and economic history, and the history of world travelers, global exploration, and empire. He is Editor of Terrae Incognitae, the Journal of the Society for the History of Discoveries; he is writing a book entitled Alexander von Humboldt and Mexico's Legendary Wealth.
