Interim Director of Women's Studies and Associate Professor
Department of History
I study the European Middle Ages, including interpretation and teaching of the Bible in medieval cathedral schools and universities. I also research the ways in which Joan of Arc's image has been used in the American context, including in children's literature, wartime treatises, and the women's suffrage movement. I teach a broad range of courses on medieval Europe and the ancient Mediterranean as well as the history department's historical methods course. I also serve as the interim director of the Women's Studies Program.
