Brand Marketing Partner Announced and Purdue Fort Wayne Logo Unveiled

January 4, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

As shared in November, the Purdue University Fort Wayne school colors will be gold and black and earlier today, we proudly revealed the new logo. The logo will conform to Purdue University brand standards as we continue our journey towards playing an increasingly important role in the Purdue University system. The reveal of the logo is one more step in the process of rebranding our institution and we will continue working to further develop the creative pieces of our brand. A brand implementation team comprised of university stakeholders continues to be engaged in the process and will be critical to the brand rollout.

In conjunction with the reveal of our new logo, I am also proud to announce our brand marketing partner. In December, the implementation team reviewed proposals submitted by marketing firms interested in working with the university. The finalists were invited to campus and offered presentations to stakeholders from across campus, representing a wide-range of university partners. Following the review of the proposals and presentations, the firm that rose to the top and who will be engaged in the creation of our new brand is SME. SME has worked with many well-known institutions of higher education including, but not limited to, Harvard University, the University of Louisville, Northern Arizona University and Purdue University.

As previously shared, last year the university contracted with SimpsonScarborough to conduct market research regarding the branding of the institution as we transition to Purdue University Fort Wayne. Following their research, they also assisted in developing our core brand strategy, positioning, and targeted messaging that will drive our future marketing objectives and branding efforts. All of this information will be shared with SME to assist in their efforts in developing our messaging and visual marketing roll out.

Again, as we gain momentum and we look towards our future as Purdue Fort Wayne, I want to thank everyone for their cooperation and hard work. It will take all of us playing our part to successfully roll out our new brand and I appreciate everyone’s efforts over the next six months and beyond.

Sincerely,

Ronald L. Elsenbaumer
