Ruth L. Stone Named Vice Chancellor for Development
April 4, 2019
Dear Colleagues,
We have concluded the search for a vice chancellor for development, and I am pleased to announce that Ruth L. Stone has been selected to fill the position, effective April 15.
Ruth is an experienced leader who has worked more than a decade with organizations to increase philanthropic support and engagement, in corporate strategic planning and organizational management to solve problems, and with organizations to realize operational efficiencies.
Ruth most recently was the founder and president of her own consulting business, which helped nonprofit organizations achieve a greater impact in their communities. Prior to that, she served as the chief development officer for Turnstone, a Fort Wayne nonprofit organization that empowers people with disabilities of all ages and financial levels to reach their full potential.
Many of you know Ruth, as she worked for the university previously. She served as the project manager for the 50th-anniversary public-art project, Sculpture with Purpose, and as the project manager for Tapestry.
She is very engaged with the Fort Wayne community and serves on several boards of organizations, including Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne and United Way of Allen County. She also is a sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Fort Wayne.
Ruth earned a B.F.A. degree from Mundelein College of Loyola University and will graduate this spring with an Executive M.B.A. degree from the Purdue University Krannert School of Management. She also is an alumna of Leadership Fort Wayne.
Please join me in welcoming Ruth to Purdue Fort Wayne.
Sincerely,
Ron Elsenbaumer
Chancellor
