Summer Work Schedule to End August 11

August 3, 2023
Dear Colleagues,

Purdue Fort Wayne’s leadership team implemented a campus-wide summer work schedule in May as a means of enhancing the campus work environment for faculty and staff, while also ensuring the delivery of essential services for our students, campus visitors, and the broader campus community.

I want to thank everyone for their diligence in making the modified work schedule a success.

As we approach what promises to be an exciting fall semester, the summer work schedule will end on August 11, as scheduled. The university will resume normal business/office hours on Monday, August 14, as we begin welcoming students to campus in advance of classes beginning on August 21.

Academic and administrative units may resume their previous academic year hybrid work schedules beginning August 14. Units will have the flexibility to modify hybrid schedules to provide additional opportunities for remote work, as feasible and appropriate. Any exceptions to existing hybrid schedules must be reviewed and approved by direct reports to the vice chancellor for each of their respective areas.

Thank you for all you are doing to prepare for new and returning students this semester. If the enrollment numbers continue their current trajectory, we are optimistic that we will have an increase in enrollment, as compared to last fall. We will continue to keep you informed as the semester gets underway.

I look forward to seeing you around campus in the coming weeks!

Sincerely,

Ron Elsenbaumer
Chancellor
