University Names Kristina Creager as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
June 18, 2019
Dear Colleagues,
We have concluded the search for a Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, and I am pleased to announce that Kristina Creager, formerly Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success, has been selected to fill the position, effective July 1.
This is a pivotal time for the Division of Student Affairs, as we continue to focus on student engagement and retention and work diligently to significantly improve the student experience on campus. Krissy has served admirably as Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs since February, and she will continue the transition and transformations that are already well underway.
The bulk of Krissy’s professional career has been with Purdue Fort Wayne. She joined the university in 2009 as Associate Director of Student Life and has held the positions of Director of Student Life, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Transitions, and Interim Director of Financial Aid prior to this appointment. Additionally, Krissy served as cochair of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee for the 2018–19 academic year. Prior to arriving at Purdue Fort Wayne 10 years ago, she held positions in new student orientation and retention at the University of Puget Sound and first-year academic advising at Northern Arizona University.
Krissy earned her Ph.D. in Global Leadership in Higher Education from the Indiana Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in Student Development Administration from Seattle University, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northern Arizona University.
Please join me in welcoming and supporting Krissy in her new role at Purdue Fort Wayne.
Sincerely,
Ron Elsenbaumer
Chancellor
