Summer Work Schedule Concludes Friday
August 1, 2024
Dear Colleagues,
Purdue Fort Wayne’s leadership team implemented a campus-wide summer work schedule in May as a means of enhancing the campus work environment for faculty and staff, while also ensuring the delivery of essential services for our students, visitors, and the broader campus community.
I want to thank everyone for their diligence in making the modified work schedule a success.
As we approach what promises to be an exciting fall semester, the summer work schedule will end tomorrow, as scheduled. The university will resume normal business/office hours on Monday, as we prepare to welcome students back to campus in advance of classes beginning Aug. 26.
Starting next week, academic and administrative units may resume their previous hybrid work schedules. Although units have the flexibility to modify hybrid schedules, this should only be done as feasible and appropriate. Please remember that final decisions on hybrid work schedules, outside of the one remote day a week, are made by direct reports to the chancellor for each of their respective areas.
Thank you for all you are doing to prepare for our new and returning students this semester.
I look forward to seeing you around campus in the coming weeks!
Sincerely,
Ron Elsenbaumer
Chancellor
