2024 Solar Eclipse

Science Mall

A TOTAL solar eclipse visible in Fort Wayne area on 04/08/2024. The last visible total solar eclipse in US was in 1979 and the next one is in 2044 (visible in Dakota and Minnesota, but not Indiana.)

PFW Physics department will proudly offer FREE certified observing solar glasses to those attending the event on campus (while supplies last). [Warning: do NOT look at the sun without a certified solar glass. Serious eye damages are possible without appropriate eye protections.]

We'll gather at the Science Mall, which is the grassy area between Kettler and Neff Hall, to view the eclipse. The closest parking areas to the event are located in lots 4 and 5.

Details and other educational and social activities will be announced later. Keep tuned! Please contact physics department for questions.
