Opera Ensemble and Orchestra present Gianni Schicchi

The Opera Ensemble, in conjunction with the University Orchestra directed by Kevin McMahon, will perform Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, a comedic opera about greed and cunning deception. After a wealthy man dies, his relatives discover he left his fortune to a monastery and enlist the clever Gianni Schicchi to alter the will. Schicchi agrees but tricks them by naming himself the sole heir, securing the fortune for his daughter and her true love. Directed by Dr. Belinda Andrews-Smith, Schicchi is presented in collaboration with Heartland Sings, and is a first-time collaboration between the Opera Ensemble and the Orchestra featuring PFW students, faculty, guest artists, and alumni.
