Ordinary Objects, Extraordinary Stories

Kettler Hall

Come and check out the Anthropology "Intro to Museum Studies" Course Exhibit! Located ground floor of Kettler Hall around the center staircase.

This collection of personal belongings represents items that while at first glance may seem ordinary, possess qualities that make each special in its own way. Each object, accompanied by a label written by the owner, illustrates the power held within it. This exhibit encourages you to reflect on these items, and those in your life, that while at first may seem commonplace, have an importance on a personal or even societal level. Tapping into feelings of nostalgia, reverence, and remembrance we hope these belongings will remind you of the treasures you hold dear, and inspire you to feel a connection to even the most ordinary objects.

Exhibit located in two display cases on the ground floor of Kettler Hall around the central staircase.

This exhibit is part of ANTH 20700 "Introduction to Museum Studies." Have an interest in learning more about the history, purpose, and role of museums, and curating an exhibit like this one?
