Taking Control of My Diabetes: Virtual Lifestyle Education Program

Are you struggling with managing your diabetes or prediabetes? Do you want to better understand diabetes and how it affects your body? 

This in-depth program is designed to help you manage your blood glucose levels and offer support. Each participant will be given a glucose meter with supplies to check their blood glucose levels.

Space is limited. Register early because all benefits-eligible employees from the Purdue campuses and their covered spouses on the Purdue medical plan can sign up. 

Program dates: August 7–November 13. Please register by July 31. Meeting link will be sent before event.

Lifestyle Education Programs

Lifestyle Education programs focus on creating lifelong habits to improve and maintain your health and well-being. These workshops about heart health, tobacco cessation, diabetes, and more are offered to benefits-eligible employees and their covered spouses as part of the Healthy Boiler Program. Learn more about our lifestyle education workshops.

This 14-week program will explain what diabetes is and how nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management can influence your blood glucose levels. Each participant will be given a glucose meter with supplies to check their blood glucose levels.

The program is open to benefits-eligible employees (including those who have opted out of Purdue's medical plan) plus spouses covered on a Purdue health plan from West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest.

  • Benefits-eligible employees plus covered spouses who have already joined the Healthy Boiler Program may log in to the Healthy Boiler portal, then scroll to Healthy Boiler Workshops. Hover over the workshop's square and click the "Submit" to register. 
  • If you have not joined the Healthy Boiler Program and you are a benefits-eligible employee, you may email Bloom at [email protected] to register for this workshop or check if there are any spots available.
