Cleveland rocks during search for PFW weather balloon
Lasting nearly a full week, the search for a wayward weather balloon Purdue University Fort Wayne launched April 8 to capture high-altitude images and data of that day’s solar eclipse has been suspended. According to outreach team members at PFW’s College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science, GPS signals over the weekend confirmed that strong winds had carried the balloon and its payload significantly farther out into Lake Erie than first suspected.
