PFW Story
Free public screening of new documentary offered on campus June 3
There was a time when Fort Wayne was known as the “Heavy Duty Truck Capital of the World.” Thousands of hardworking and talented employees of International Harvester helped the city and IH earn that reputation, and now those stories will be told by PBS Fort Wayne in a documentary premiering at Purdue University Fort Wayne on June 3.
The free screening of “Truck Town—The History of International Harvester in Fort Wayne” will start at 6:30 p.m. in Auer Performance Hall. Several IH trucks and the legendary Scout will also be parked outside of the Purdue Fort Wayne Music Center beginning at 5:30 for patrons to get an up-close look.
Tickets are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis through PFW’s online ticketing platform or the Schatzlein Box Office.
Combining archival material with over 30 interviews, this two-hour documentary spans from the 1800s to the present day. Click here to learn more and watch a short preview.
