Purdue Fort Wayne associate professor talks AI at Rotary Club meeting

A Purdue University Fort Wayne associate professor told a downtown audience Monday that artificial intelligence has achieved human-level performance, and he is using the technology to do more than check his communication.

Bin Chen – who teaches in the university’s College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science – briefly described his efforts to improve the recycling industry through AI during the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne’s weekly lunchtime meeting at Parkview Field.

But he first talked more generally about AI, including technological advancements in recent years. He shared examples of AI generating images and video based on text prompts along with his uses of the technology.
