News Release

Einstein Bros. Bagels opens first local shop at PFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The food choices for students, faculty, staff, and the public are about to expand at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

The first-ever Fort Wayne location of Einstein Bros. Bagels is opening on the ground floor of Kettler Hall on Monday, September 9, at 7:30 a.m. Grand opening festivities for the eatery will take place the week of September 23. Details on those events and promotions will be released to the campus and public soon

“I know many students are very excited to have Einstein’s Bagels here on our campus,” says Honey Aung Win, student body president. “When we officially announced they were coming to campus last spring we had samples from their menu, and the feedback we received was very good. The students are also excited because Einstein Bros. is new, affordable, convenient, and delicious for their dining experiences here on campus

“We are thrilled to partner with Einstein Bros. and we’re looking forward to serving the campus in a new way,” says Eric May, food service director with Aramark Campus Dining. “Aramark will continue to offer dining services in Don’s at Walb with daily specials, including Oath Pizza, and at Java Spot in the Walb Atrium, featuring breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go items, and Starbucks beverages.

Einstein Bros.’ menu offers fresh-baked gourmet, specialty, and classic bagels; more than half-a-dozen kinds of regular or low-fat cream cheese; breakfast and lunch sandwiches; a wide selection of different sweets and snacks; fountain soft drinks, hot and iced teas, and regular and specialty Caribou Coffee drinks. This is also Caribou Coffee’s first Fort Wayne location

“Einstein Bros. Bagels was selected by the Purdue Fort Wayne Student Government Association after numerous student responses asking for name-brand dining options on campus,” says Krissy Creager, vice chancellor for student affairs. “Einstein’s is a great choice because its menu includes options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Einstein Bros. Bagels is also included on the university’s meal plan. Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday. It will be closed on weekends, holidays, and whenever classes are not in session
