Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center helps local author tell stories of World War II veterans
FORT WAYNE, Ind.—With Veterans Day approaching, the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (NE-ISBDC), hosted at Purdue University Fort Wayne, believes it’s important to reflect on what veterans mean to us as a country and a community. We should appreciate our veterans every day, and the NE-ISBDC actively looks for opportunities to do so. They were excited to help out with Kayleen Reusser Writing, LLC., the business of a local author, who focuses on the stories of World War II veterans.
Kayleen has been a client of the NE-ISBDC since 2012, and several times over those years has sought the help of the professionals at the NE-ISBDC for many aspects of her business.
The business advisors and staff members at the center helped Kayleen by providing guidance for structuring and brainstorming strategies to grow her LLC business as well as some marketing components, such as help in designing her logo. They also proved to be immensely helpful by providing prospect lists and target areas for marketing, publishing press releases when her new books were released, and including her in their newsletter. Because of this help from the center, Kayleen has already booked numerous speaking engagements far into 2020, for which she is incredibly grateful. You can check out her website, kayleenreusser.com, for future events and to subscribe to her newsletter.
Billie Wunderlich, who is currently serving as Kayleen’s business advisor, says it is exciting to work with her. “One of the things I have most enjoyed about working with Kayleen is her absolute passion for sharing the personal stories of our World War II veterans. She has spent countless hours interviewing veterans, and the stories and pictures she is able to share in her books help bring a different, more personal perspective to that part of our history.”
Helping small businesses, especially those focused on such a worthy cause, succeed by providing resources, often free of charge, is what the Northeast Indiana Small Business Development Center does every day.
