Faculty Artist Recital featuring Hamilton Tescarollo, piano
Dr. Hamilton Tescarollo, professor of piano and director of Keyboard Studies, will present a solo piano program that includes J.S. Bach’s Toccata in E Minor, BWV 914; Mozart’s Sonata in D Major, KV 311; Chopin’s Scherzo No. 4 in E Major, Op. 54; and Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4.

Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus
The United States Army Field Band and Soldier’s Chorus have been thrilling audiences of all ages for more than six decades. As the premier touring musical representatives for the United States Army, these internationally-acclaimed organizations travel thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to enthusiastic audiences throughout the nation and abroad.

Opera Ensemble and Orchestra present Gianni Schicchi
The Opera Ensemble, in conjunction with the University Orchestra directed by Kevin McMahon, will perform Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, a comedic opera about greed and cunning deception. After a wealthy man dies, his relatives discover he left his fortune to a monastery and enlist the clever Gianni Schicchi to alter the will. Schicchi agrees but tricks them by naming himself the sole heir, securing the fortune for his daughter and her true love. Directed by Dr. Belinda Andrews-Smith, Schicchi is presented in collaboration with Heartland Sings, and is a first-time collaboration between the Opera Ensemble and the Orchestra featuring PFW students, faculty, guest artists, and alumni.

String Studio Recital

Bands Concert
The School of Music Bands welcome composer Roger Zare for a premiere of his Deep Underground and ensembles from Hamilton Southeastern High School to the stage. They will also celebrate a premiere of a work by Gala Flagello and selections from John Williams’s Star Wars.

Orchestra Final Concert
The final orchestra concert of the season features PFW Faculty member Dr. Jonathan Young performing the Third Piano Concerto of Béla Bartók.  The concert will finish with a performance of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2.

Faculty Artist Recital – Andrew Nesler, piano
Prokofiev War Sonatas + Beethoven
The second installment in this three-part recital series features Prokofiev's gripping Sonata No. 7, Op. 83, paired with Beethoven's Sonata No. 6, Op. 10/2, and Eleven Bagatelles, Op. 119. With a thematic focus on small-scale ecosystems, the program also includes Wu's Tiny Forests and Yoshimatsu's Six Vignettes, Op. 105.

Singer’s Choice Choral Concert 
The 2024-2025 PFW choral concert season will conclude with favorite songs selected by the singers. This concert will feature the Chamber Treble Singers, Choral Union, and the University Singers. Come to this “mixtape” concert to enjoy an eclectic collection of choral music. Conductors include Emily Bird, Jonathan Busarow, and Dr. William Sauerland, with collaborative pianists Irene Ator and Dr. Geoffrey North.

Early Music Concert
A Courtesan, A Nun, and A Court Musician
Celebrating women composers of the 17th- and 18th-century Europe, the concert begins in the first half of the seventeenth century with two pieces of Italian stile modern: Barbara Strozzi’s heart-wrenching cantata “Lagrime Mie” followed by a fiery sonata composed by Italian nun Isabella Leonarda. The program continues with two compositions by French composer Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre: an elegant dance suite for solo harpsichord and a monumental sacred cantata, Esther, which showcases both instrumental brilliance and dramatic vocal pyrotechnics.
