Elena Bardi

Elena Abuladze Bardi was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. She began piano lessons at age 4. For her first recital at age 6, she played Bach's Inventions, Chopin's Mazurka, and Tchaikovsky's Children's Album. A year later, while enrolled in a school for gifted children, she performed with the Tbilisi State Orchestra and the Tbilisi State String Quartet. She later earned bachelor's and master's degrees at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. While there, she studied with professors Vanda Shiukashvili and Tengiz Amirejibi.

Known for her virtuosic playing and sensitive musicality, Mrs. Bardi has been a featured recitalist in Moscow, Munich (at Die Hochschule for Musik), the Republic of Georgia, and South Bend, Huntington, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her repertoire includes works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, and more. In 1996, she was invited to teach private piano and perform at Indiana University South Bend.

Currently Mrs. Bardi, who lives in Fort Wayne, is part of the piano staff at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she is the assistant musical director for the Opera Ensemble and accompanist for senior voice recitals of music majors. She also works as a rehearsal accompanist for the Auer Academy of Fort Wayne Ballet.
