division of campus and community wellbeing

A movement of care and belonging.

As of March 27, Purdue Fort Wayne has committed to being a Health Promoting Campus by adopting the Okanagan Charter. We strive to change the common narrative that work and school are nothing but stress and struggle. Instead, our campus—as a workplace, an educational institution, and a community cornerstone—is filled with resources and champions of your well-being.

What does health promoting mean?

Health promoting is about your ability to thrive. With support and resources, we strive to expand our presence as a welcoming, well-being focused culture in which students, staff, and faculty can flourish physically, emotionally, educationally, occupationally, and socially.

Okanagan Charter

The movement that started it all.

The international Okanagan Charter is a guiding and aspirational document that was developed by numerous health promotion scholars, researchers, practitioners, and administrators. The document explores the language, principles, and framework that higher-education institutions need in order to develop and model health-promoting strategies on campus.
