Low-Sensory Spaces

Division of Campus and Community Wellbeing

Find a calming place on campus.

Need an escape? Low-sensory spaces are perfect for to reset your mood, decrease anxiety, and reduce stress. There are two low-sensory spaces on campus:

  • Center for Student Counseling in Kettler Hall (next to Einstein Bros. Bagels)
  • Disability Access Center (Walb Student Union, Room 113)

Low-Sensory spaces

Check it out.

No appointment needed—these low-sensory rooms are meant to create a calming and relaxation space where you can engage with sensory equipment and tools like mindful coloring, sand trays, and weighted blankets. These rooms provide a retreat and safe space where you can explore and regulate your sensory experiences.

Mastodon Relaxation Zone

Stay calm and cool.

The Mastodon Relaxation Zone, located in the Center for Student Counseling in Kettler Hall, provides dim lights, white noise, comfortable chairs, and relaxation tools. Enjoy a free coffee and tea bar (sponsored by the Student Government Association) in a safe environment, with the tools necessary to manage stress. There is also a quiet study area available. The space is open for use by all students, and you don’t have to be a current client of the center, either.
