Message from the Chief
Division of Campus and community wellbeing
Welcome to the Division of Campus and Community Wellbeing.
At Purdue Fort Wayne, we believe that well-being is the foundation of success—both in the classroom and beyond. Our commitment to student, employee, and community well-being is at the heart of everything we do, shaping a campus culture where everyone can thrive.
Through our strategic initiatives, we are dedicated to fostering a holistic approach to well-being—integrating physical, mental, emotional, and social health into daily campus life. We are strengthening our well-being culture by improving access to resources, creating supportive spaces, and developing unique and transformational well-being programs. From promoting physical health and reducing food insecurity to enhancing mental-health resilience and work-life balance, we are taking meaningful steps to ensure that every member of our community feels supported.
Beyond individual well-being, we are also deeply committed to nurturing campus community, respect, and meaningful contribution. As a member of the Health Promoting Campus Network and an adopter of the Okanagan Charter, we strive to create opportunities for connection, celebrate the achievements of our students and employees, and encourage fellowship through dialogue, education, and engagement. Please see information about these incredible initiatives by exploring our website.
As part of a larger community, our university actively builds partnerships and service-learning opportunities that extend the impact of our well-being initiatives beyond campus. Through collaboration, research, and leadership, we aim to position Purdue Fort Wayne as a leader in well-being, creating a lasting, positive influence on both our university and the broader community.
I invite you to join us in this journey—whether by engaging in well-being programs, supporting one another, or contributing to a culture of care. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger, and more vibrant community here at Purdue Fort Wayne.
Kerrie Fineran
Chief of Campus and Community Wellbeing and
Associate Professor of Counselor Education
