Take 10 Minutes for Health and Well-being
Employee Well-being at Work
Temperatures are dropping, days are getting shorter, and bright, sunny days are decreasing. These changes can make you feel sluggish or affect your energy levels, appetite, weight, sleep, or concentration.
One of the ways to combat these changes is by staying active—physically and mentally—throughout the fall and winter. During November, the Employee Well-being at Work events will offer faculty and staff a variety of 10-minute workouts designed to:
- Move your body after sitting for long periods of time
- Relieve tight muscles
- Increase circulation
- Boost mood
- Allow your mind to refocus
The monthly theme and challenge also focuses on mental/behavioral health and physical health. The theme—Surviving or Thriving in Winter—encourages you to find ways where your well-being thrives in the cold months. The Healthy Boiler Challenge invites you to complete a 20-minute free fitness video from YouTube three times each week as another way of staying active and thriving in fall and winter.
Visit the Employee Well-being web site for upcoming Healthy Boiler workshops including Staying Active Indoors for faculty and staff.
Employee Well-being at Work is a program where the Employee Well-being team will be available to meet with faculty and staff each month. Our team is focused on working for you and your well-being.
Each month we will visit a different building and offer health and well-being tips or health checks, healthy snacks, giveaways, and information about upcoming events and programs. We would also like to gather information about your biggest health and well-being concerns so we can create programs to address your needs.
