Two Opera One-Acts
Rhinehart Recital Hall
In The Impresario, Mr. Bluff tries to stop his boss, the Impresario Mr. Scruples from retiring. Mr. Angel steps in, in order to keep the cash-strapped opera company afloat. To make matters worse, Madame Goldentrill and Miss Silverpeal duke it out for star status, but in the end, everyone comes to their senses to proclaim that, in artistic endeavors, it’s “one for all and all for one!”
Captain Lovelock is a tale of a wealthy, elderly widow who wishes to marry a young army officer instead of focusing on helping her daughters find love. With the help of a matchmaker her daughters conspire to trick their mother to show her how foolish and selfish she is being.
