Honors Pin
Who is eligible for the Honors Pin? The pin is awarded annually to Honors Active students who have completed a minimum of 9 credits of honors credits, marking the halfway point to full honors certificate
What is the purpose of the Honors Pin?
Symbol of Achievement: This pin represents a significant academic milestone in our honors student’s journey
Motivation: Encourages continued excellence and commitment towards completing the honors program certificate
Community and Pride: Receiving the pin alongside their peers and the university community underscores a sense of belonging and pride in our students’ academic accomplishments
How does a student receive the Honors Pin? This pin is presented in the Honors Pin ceremony, an annual event university event that takes place at the half time on the Coliseum center court Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons men's basketball game on center court. Honorees are presented their pin by the campus leadership, with friends and family invited encouraging them to celebrate their achievement
Is it mandatory for our students to attend the Honors Pinning Ceremony? No, this event is optional for our students, but we do encourage them to attend if possible as we also have an Honors Program reception to honor their accomplishments
Honors Showcase
An honorable finale.
The Honors Showcase is a semiannual event held in the fall and spring semesters that allows honors students who will soon be graduating the opportunity to present their research. Even if you aren’t presenting, be on the lookout for the upcoming showcase so you can see our students in action.

What do our students receive at graduation upon completion of the requirements for their Honors Certificate?
The Honors Medal: personalized with the student's name and graduation date embossed on the back. The medal features:
- Purdue Seal: Features the unique Purdue Griffin and the Purdue University seal, symbolizing strength.
- A Golden Design: Crafted in striking gold, symbolizing the highest standard of academic achievement.
- Distinctive Ribbon: Adorned with a strip of gold and black, echoing the university's colors and adding elegance to its appearance.
Honors Cords: A distinction unique from the National Collegiate Honors Council. Green and gold interwoven, with the gold symbolizing high honors or a high GPA.
Honors Certificate: Complete with the Purdue University Seal of the trustees embossed in gold on the cover. The student's personalized Honors Certificate is stored inside with University Recognition from the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Honors Program Council Chair, and Honors Program Director.
Transcript Notation: Notation of Honors Curriculum is noted on the student's final transcript, reflecting their work with the Honors Program. This notation can assist students in graduate school applications and the employment field.
These items are awarded solely to honors students as a mark of their dedication and success in meeting all honors program requirements. They represent the culmination of the honors journey, signifying the completion of all honors program requirements.
