Mastodon esports—competitive and fun.
March 2020. The genesis of esports at Purdue Fort Wayne. From modest beginnings, just three teams and a handful of players, grew a program that now competes with six full teams and plays all the Big Ten schools—and some games draw more than 1,500 Twitch spectators.
Winning Strats
Mastodon gamers with skills.
Our esports program features competitive teams for six primary games: Overwatch, Valorant, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. These have separate seasons with national tournaments for the fall and spring semesters.

Meet the coach
Our esports leader.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, head coach Jordan Cunningham moved to Fort Wayne in 2010 on an athletics scholarship with Indiana Tech. While in school, Cunningham participated in amateur League of Legends tournaments while also helping staff various LAN events.
Upon graduation, in 2015, Cunningham transitioned to Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, first as a competitive individual player, then as head coach under Zenith Esports. In 2019, he became the esports head coach at Indiana Tech, providing the university with the inaugural WHAC Esports Conference championship.
