Black Cherry

Description
Black cherry bark is distinctive, dark-gray black. On young trees it is smooth and shiny, with prominent lenticels or corky ridges. Older trees have scaly plates of bark. The reddish wood is used in making fine furniture. The fruit is red, ripening to red black, and is important wildlife food.
