Black Locust

Description
The flower clusters are white, extremely fragrant, and a good source of nectar for bees. The leaves are pinnate, with 7 to 19 leaflets. The stems have paired, broad thorns at the nodes. The bark is dark and deeply ridged on older trees. The black locust establishes itself in old fields and can sprout vigorously from the roots.
