Blackjack Oak

Oak leaf

Description

A red oak type, the blackjack oak is a small tree, reaching only 40 feet. Usually scrubby and “gothic looking,” sometimes shrub-like, it is found in dry, infertile soil. Mature leaves are downy on the lower surface, with three rounded bristle-tipped lobes.
