Bluebeech

Description
Bluebeech is primarily a small understory tree and grows up to 20 feet in height; it is found in moist alluvial soils. It occurs throughout Indiana. The bark is smooth gray, like the American beech, over a trunk with deep smooth ridges. It’s sometimes called “musclewood” since trunk and large branches resemble musculature.
