Overcup Oak

Description
A white oak type and a fairly rare tree of wet swampy areas, it is tolerant of flooding. In Indiana, its natural range is exclusively in the southwest. Leaves are downy on the lower surface, with three to five pairs of rounded lobes. The lower branches of the tree are upswept. The cap has a ragged rim and nearly encloses the acorn. Many wildlife species use the overcup oak as food.
