Swamp Cottonwood

Cottonwood leaf

Description

Infrequent in Indiana, the swamp cottonwood grows on sites too wet for other poplars, usually in swamps. Its leaves are fairly large in size, comparable to the leaves of the bigtooth aspen, and have rounded, rather than flattened, petioles, or leaf stalks.
