Swamp White Oak

Description
A white oak type and a medium sized, long-lived tree found in lowlands and swamps of the north central and northeastern forests. It is also drought resistant. The leaves are whitish and downy on the lower surface, with 6 to 10 pairs of large, rounded, lobe-like teeth. The bowl-shaped cap covers about one-third of the acorn. Acorns provide food for many species of wildlife. The bark on branches peels back to give a slightly shaggy appearance.
