Sycamore

Description
Sycamore bark is thin and exfoliates in plates. The trunk has a characteristically camouflage look. The branches and upper trunk are creamy white and stand out in the winter landscape. Seed heads form dangling round balls that are often held on the tree throughout the winter. Fast growing and long-lived, the sycamore reaches its largest size along streams and bottomlands, and can be a behemoth among Indiana trees. A sycamore in Worthington, Indiana, measured 42 feet in circumference at five feet above the ground.
