Yellowwood

Description
Yellowwood is a medium-sized tree, reaching 50 feet in height. Its flowers are in clusters, white, very fragrant, and good for honey. It makes an excellent landscaping tree but is underused. The bark is smooth and gray, like the American beech. The heartwood is yellowish when first cut. Its known natural occurrence in Indiana is limited to Brown County, but it is hardy into Minnesota.
