Kever expands oversight with promotion to associate chief diversity officer at Purdue Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Shubitha Kever has been promoted to the newly created position of associate chief diversity officer at Purdue University Fort Wayne. In this role, Kever will add oversight of The Women’s Center and The Q Center, respectively, in addition to maintaining her leadership position with PFW’s TRIO programs — Student Support Services and Upward Bound.

Kever, who is a first-generation graduate of the university, has 17 years of experience working in higher education and advocacy. Her new position is under the umbrella of PFW’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. As part of that relationship, Kever will also spearhead development opportunities for faculty and staff on campus that advance the mission of ODEI.

“For nearly two decades, Shubitha’s experiences and dedication have provided a unique perspective that elevates voices of the university’s large first-generation student population – knowing firsthand some of the challenges these students face,” said MarTeze Hammonds, chief diversity officer, Purdue University Fort Wayne. “This new role will expand her work to include initiatives that support additional diverse populations on campus. We are excited for this opportunity.”
