PFW making headlines with student housing groundbreaking

It’s not every day that a university gets to celebrate the start of a major construction project, but Purdue Fort Wayne now knows what it takes to do it a couple times per semester. Along with Gilbane Development Company, PFW broke ground Oct. 29 on a 600-bed, 213,000-square-foot apartment complex that’s scheduled to be ready to welcome students in August 2026.

Taking place just seven weeks after the ceremonial launch of the Surack–Sweetwater Music Industry Building, this late October kickoff event for what will be called Trace at Purdue Fort Wayne included a comparable amount of enthusiasm and media attention.
