PFW men’s basketball logs more than 300 hours of community service this summer
The players on the Purdue Fort Wayne men’s basketball team have made a big impact in the community this offseason.
Coach Jon Coffman said his guys have already put in more than 300 hours of service volunteering at the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Renaissance YMCA over the past eight weeks.
The players are not only giving back to these kids, but the kids have also been making an impression on the Dons.
With this new era of NIL opportunities across the college athletics landscape, Coffman said ventures like this make community engagement easier for players and donors. The coach said he feels that it is a part of his role to connect their program with the community of Fort Wayne.
