Purdue University Fort Wayne set to launch search for 19 new faculty
FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Purdue University Fort Wayne has authorized the launch of strategic searches to fill 19 new faculty positions for the 2019 Academic Year. The breakdown is 17 tenure-track positions, one senior tenured faculty position, and one continuing lecturer position.
“These positions were chosen specifically to align with student demand and the needs of the workforce and economy in the region,” says Carl Drummond, vice chancellor for academic affairs and enrollment management. “We also have several new degrees we are offering with positions that need to be filled.”
Those new degrees include Bachelor of Science in psychology, early education, business, applied statistics, and data science, and two new bachelor’s degrees related to the music industry.
“We are thrilled to be able to add to our faculty and bring new talent to the university,” says Chancellor Ron Elsenbaumer. “This is an important step for us in our role as the comprehensive academic institution in northeast Indiana.”
There are six positions in the College of Arts and Sciences, two positions in the Doermer School of Business, three positions in the College of Professional Studies, four positions in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science, and four positions in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
