new student orientation

New student programs

Your Mastodon life starts now.

New Student Orientation is how you learn about the Mastodon life. We’ll prepare you for the academic and social aspects of college by giving you all the tools you need to be successful, and hopefully help ease some of your nerves.

Most orientations include time to tour campus, meet fellow Mastodons (including professors), get your class schedule set, and give you info on resources you may need.

Types of Orientation

A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t cut it here.

We offer numerous types of orientations because everyone is different, and we want you to have the best experience possible. Check out the various types of orientation:

  • One-day and overnight sessions for
    first-time college students
  • Experiences for adult beginner students, GED students, and students who are new to Purdue Fort Wayne but have previously attended college at another institution
  • For students returning to Purdue Fort Wayne after a break
  • Online orientation for online-only majors or international students
