Guoping Wang

Dr. Guoping Wang received his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. He is the chair of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Purdue University Fort Wayne. His research areas are: Internet of Things, Machine Learning on Edge Device, Embedded Systems, FPGA for DSP etc.
Bin Chen
Associate Professor of Electric and Computer Engineering
Dr. Chen received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. His research interests included biomedical signal and image analysis, device development and machine learning.
Chao Chen
Professor of Computer Engineering
Dr. Chao Chen is currently a Professor of Computer Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she has been since 2005. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003 and 2005, respectively. She also earned B.E. and M.E. degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China in 1998 and 2001, respectively. Prior to joining Purdue Fort Wayne, she was a graduate research assistant in the Broadband and Wireless Networking Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Chen is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

David Cochran
Professor Sys Engr & Dir Sys Engr
David S. Cochran, Ph.D., is a Professor of Systems Engineering, Director of Systems Engineering and teaches the core courses in Systems Engineering for the Master of Science (MSE) Degree at Purdue University Fort Wayne. He holds a joint appointment with the Doermer School of Business and is developing the Entrepreneurship and Innovative Design (EID) consortium. Prof. Cochran is a Professor by Courtesy with Purdue University School of Engineering Technology and serves as faculty member with the SoET MSET degree program. Prof. Cochran teaches summer courses in Systems Engineering and Enterprise Design with MCI Innsbruck, and the Free University at Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. Research interests are sustainable enterprise system design and leadership, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), digital thread and digital twin application development. He is a former faculty member with MIT, Mechanical Engineering, Meijo Business School, Nagoya, Japan, and Southern Methodist University, Systems Engineering, Dallas, Texas.
Todor Cooklev
Professor
The research interests of Professor Cooklev include most aspects of modern wireless systems such as hardware and software architectures, signal processing, protocols, etc. He has contributed to more than 100 papers and is also inventor on numerous patents. He has served on the Board of Governors of IEEE Standards Association and currently serves as editor for wireless and radio communication of the IEEE Communications Standards Magazine. Prof. Cooklev authored the textbook “Modern Communications Systems: A First Course,” Michigan Publishing, 2023.
Claudio Freitas
Assistant Professor of First-Year Engineering
Dr. Claudio Freitas (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of First-Year Engineering at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). He is a scholar in engineering education, focusing on innovative pedagogies, educational technology, and creating learning opportunities for diverse students. His research primarily centers on (1) understanding how engineering students engage in undergraduate education, particularly in First-Year Engineering (FYE), and (2) how technologies can enhance learning experiences. Dr. Freitas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics from the Higher Education Institute of Amazonia (Brazil), a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Brazil), and a Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Purdue University (USA).
Yanfei Liu

Dr. Yanfei Liu received her Ph.D. from Clemson University.
Elizabeth Thompson
Professor Electrical Engr
Dr. Thompson has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. She has taught at Purdue Fort Wayne since August 1999. In Fall 2015, she was promoted to Professor of Electrical Engineering. She teaches courses in digital signal processing, electronics, power electronics, and embedded microprocessors.
Antian Wang
Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering
Dr. Antian Wang is the Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, Fort Wayne. He received his Ph.D. from Clemson University in 2024. He also received his Bachelor of Engineering from Shanghai Maritime University in 2017. His research interests encompass Cryptographic System software hardware co-design, Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning, VLSI Digital signal processing, Design Automation, Embedded Systems, Engineering Education, etc.
