Language Lab

Perfect your study.

The Department of International Language and Culture Studies is proud to offer the language lab as a resource for all our students. Check out everything it offers.

The Language Lab is located in the Liberal Arts Building, Room 258. It is designed to help students practice their language skills. The lab is a space where students can listen to music, read books and magazines, study, play games, converse, and use other multimedia resources.

The Language Lab also serves as the ILCS tutoring center. We offer tutoring in Spanish, German, French and first-year Japanese.

Monday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Tuesday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m.– 5 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

The lab allows you to use many different resources on your own, including the following:

  • Books and Printed media. The lab has books, magazines, and other printed media
  • Music. A CD player is available for special use (e.g., special music tapes).
  • Games and puzzles. These may be used in the Language Lab. The games are in the smaller side room off of the main Lab.
  • DVDs. The DVDs have cultural information, grammar, and entertainment programs in various languages. Please note, these can be played only on the computers.
  • Conversation. In the conversation area, students may watch programs as a group, play games, or have conversations, all in the target language.

Contact Alyssa Anguiano, ILCS administrative assistant, at [email protected] for more information on Language Lab events or tutoring.
