PFW women's basketball story for this year isn't over yet
Although Purdue Fort Wayne’s women’s basketball team fell short of the ultimate prize—the Horizon League Tournament title and an automatic NCAA Tournament bid—perspective is necessary.
Four years ago, the Mastodons were in disarray, enduring a 1–22 season amid player mistreatment allegations against the ex-coach. Morale was at rock bottom. Today, they are back-to-back WNIT qualifiers, setting program records for wins (25) and consecutive victories (17) while advancing further in the league tournament than ever before.
The Mastodons’ story isn’t over. On Tuesday, they host Navy or Old Dominion in their WNIT opener.
