Boren Fellowship
Provides funding to support a semester or full year of study abroad in world regions critical to US interests.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or graduate student at the time of application. Must be a US citizen.

Critical Language Scholarship
Support for a summer-long intensive language program abroad for critical languages.
Eligibility: Must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student. Must be a US citizen or national.
Critical Language Spark Scholarship
Support for a year-long, online intensive language program for four critical languages.
Eligibility: Must be enrolled in a B.A. program at the time of application. Must be a US citizen or national.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
Support for a year of graduate-level study, independent research, or teaching abroad.
Eligibility: Must have a bachelor’s degree before the grant period starts (seniors, recent graduates, or graduate students may apply). Must be a US citizen or national. Requires campus nomination.
Fulbright Summer Institute
Attend a summer study program in the UK.
Eligibility: Must be a freshman or sophomore with at least two years left in college at the time of application. Must be a US citizen. Must not have extensive travel experience.
Gilman International Scholarship
Awards up to $5,000 to support undergraduate study abroad.
Eligibility: Must be an undergraduate, eligible for a Pell Grant, and a US citizen. Requires approval from the Study Abroad Program and Office of Financial Aid.
Marshall Scholarship
Full support for up to two years of postgraduate study at any British university in any field.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or recent graduate and a US citizen. Must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Requires university endorsement.
Mitchell Scholarship
One-year award to support graduate study in Ireland in any field.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or recent graduate, between the ages of 18 and 30 on the date of application, and a US citizen.
Rhodes Scholarship
Full support for two years of study at Oxford University in any discipline.
Eligibility: Any full-time student between the ages of 18 and 24 is eligible to apply. US citizenship is not required.
DAAD Rise and DAAD Rise Professional
Summer internship in a STEM field in Germany. German language not required. Available for undergraduates (Rise) and graduates (Rise Professional).
Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship
Provides funding for graduate study for members of communities underrepresented in the professoriat.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or recent graduate who is applying for a doctoral research degree. Non-US citizens should check the exact eligibility requirements.
Goldwater Scholarship
Up to two years of tuition support for STEM undergraduate students who intend to pursue a graduate research degree.
Eligibility: Must be a sophomore or junior at the time of application, with a GPA of 3.6 or above. Must be a US citizen, national, or permanent resident.
Hertz Foundation Scholarship
Awards up to $25,000 annually for up to five years of graduate work leading to a Ph.D. in a science/technology field.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or first year graduate student. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
NSF Fellowships
A variety of funding available, from support for graduate study to summer research internships.
Eligibility: Must be an undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate in a STEM field. Must be a US citizen, national, or permanent resident.
Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program
Fellows work at the Carnegie Endowment as research assistants to Carnegie’s senior scholars on a paid, full-time basis for one year.
Eligibility: Must be a graduating senior or recent graduate. US citizenship not required, but some restrictions apply. Applicants should have demonstrated a strong interest in international affairs, political science, economics, or history.
Madison Junior Fellowship
Awards up to $24,000 to support graduate study for individuals intending to become teachers of American history or government at the secondary level.
Eligibility: Must be a teacher or plan to become a teacher at the secondary level. Must have received a bachelor’s degree by August of the year of application. Must be a US citizen.
Truman Scholarship
Up to $30,000 to support graduate work in a public service field.
Eligibility: Must be a junior at the time of application. Must be a US citizen or national. Must have a strong record of public service.
Voyager Scholarship
Support for tuition, travel, and summer workshops for students interested in public service. Funded by the Obama foundation.
Eligibility: Must have just finished sophomore year with two years remaining. Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
AIGA Worldstudio DxD Scholarships
Awards up to $5,000 to support minority and economically disadvantaged students at the undergraduate or graduate level who are studying visual art and/or design.
Eligibility: Must be a full-time student during grant tenure. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship

Soros Fellowship for New Americans
Support for two years of graduate study in any field.
Eligibility: Must be a senior or first- or second-year graduate student. Must be a US resident alien, naturalized citizen, or child of two naturalized citizens. Must be under 30 at time of application.
Udall Scholarship
Awards up to $5,000 to US juniors and seniors in fields related to the environment, and to Native American and Alaska Natives in fields related to healthcare or tribal policy.
Eligibility: Must be a sophomore or junior at the time of application.
